We use a unique tool that injects a .22 casing filled with glyphosate into the targeted plant, killing the entire plant and root system (no resprouts). Because the treatment is delivered directly to the target, our method can be used year-round. It also eliminates spray drift or chemical runoff, helping protect the surrounding native vegetation. This precision means we can treat invasive plants growing among desirable trees, shrubs, and wildflowers without having to clear or disturb the surrounding area. Our approach is at a lower cost than mulching or cut-stump herbicide treatments because we treat invasive plants quickly with significantly less labor. Unlike mulching, we don't need heavy equipment to clear the entire understory.Â
The result is a healthier property with minimal disturbance. When invasive honeysuckle is killed without mechanically clearing the surrounding vegetation, native trees, shrubs, and wildflowers that were already established can remain in place. As the honeysuckle dies, these desirable plants are given the sunlight and space they need to grow.
